UCO refers to conventional waste cooking oil collected from catering businesses, food processing factories and household kitchens, the earliest and most widely used waste grease feedstock for renewable fuels. It is rich in free fatty acids and low in procurement cost, with mature recovery and processing systems worldwide.
Application
Manufacture of FAME Biodiesel (Dominant Application)
Through esterification and transesterification reactions, 1st Gen UCO is converted into fatty acid methyl ester (FAME).
Production of HVO Renewable Diesel & SAF
1st Gen UCO can be processed via hydrodeoxygenation to produce HVO green diesel, whose molecular structure is nearly identical to fossil diesel.
High-Energy Additive for Animal Feed
After deep filtration, impurity removal and high-temperature refining to remove gums, peroxides and toxic contaminants, qualified 1st Gen UCO serves as high-energy fat supplement for livestock, poultry and aquafeed.
Raw Material for Soap & Industrial Cleaning Products
1st Gen UCO contains high FFA with outstanding saponification efficiency, acting as a cheap substitute for virgin vegetable oils and animal tallow.
Production of Oleochemical Intermediates
After cracking and saponification, 1st Gen UCO can be split into fatty acids, glycerol and stearic acid, which are applied in coatings, plasticizers, biodegradable plastics and surfactants. Distilled oleic acid and linoleic acid are used for textile auxiliaries and metal processing additives.
