What Specific Effects Does Mixing Industrial-grade Oils Have On Equipment?

Effects on Lubrication and Wear
Lubrication failure exacerbates wear: When different types of oils are mixed, their additives may react with one another, destabilizing the original oil film. This prevents the formation of an effective protective barrier on components such as rotors, bearings, and gear teeth, directly increasing frictional wear on metal parts and potentially leading to severe failures like component seizing or breakage.

Viscosity changes compromise anti-wear performance: Mixing oils of different viscosity grades causes the viscosity to deviate from the equipment's required standard range. The resulting oil film may be too thin to support high-pressure loads, or poor fluidity may impede oil supply, directly reducing the oil's anti-wear protection capabilities.

Effects of Clogging on Oil Circuits and Components
Sludge and impurity formation clog the system: Mixing oils of different brands or types can trigger chemical reactions among additives, resulting in the precipitation of sludge, deposits, and foam. These substances can clog components such as oil filters, valves, and hydraulic lines, leading to issues like interrupted oil supply and abnormal oil pressure.

Effects on Corrosion and Safety
Corrosion of precision metal components: If the mixed oil has excessive sulfur content or an excessively high acid value, it can slowly corrode precision mating surfaces, shaft seals, and gaskets, causing problems such as seal leakage and a loss of component precision.
Increased operational safety risks: If the mixed oil fails to meet flash point standards, it may readily volatilize in the equipment's high-temperature operating environment, creating a flammable and explosive oil-vapor mixture that poses a fire or explosion hazard if exposed to a heat source.
